Valentines day is all about love, but I am not too interested in hearts and flowers. So, I decided to base our Valentine art on sharing kindness and love. After discussing Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture in New York, the students talked about what it means to love someone. Words like helping, sharing, caring, friendship, and family were tossed around. Its nice to hear so many young people who have the right idea. Following our discussion the students created an artwork for someone that they feel fit their description of love.
